Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha was also present in this program. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Officials said that the administration also suspended some policemen for failing to ensure that everyone stood when the national anthem was played. Officials said that during the closing ceremony of the 'Pedal for Peace' cycling event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on June 25, the national anthem was played but some people did not stand up. Officials said the Jammu and Kashmir administration took a strong stand on the "insult" to the national anthem and launched an inquiry into the alleged violation. Officials said that 14 people were arrested under sections 107 and 151 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Both these sections empower the officers to arrest or detain a person on suspicion of a crime. Officials said that all those arrested have been sent to the Central Jail here.
