The BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing a pregnant journalist. The BJP alleges the incident occurred while covering a Congress party march on Monday. The Congress has denied the allegations.

New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Rahul Gandhi of misbehaving with a female journalist. The incident occurred on October 12th while the journalist was covering the INDIA alliance's protest against the Election Commission. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari alleged that the journalist was injured in the incident and had to be hospitalized. Speaking to reporters, Pradeep Bhandari claimed that a video shows Rahul Gandhi pushing the journalist with his elbow and grabbing her, causing her to fall. He also alleged that during a conversation with BJP leaders at the hospital, the journalist said Rahul Gandhi grabbed her by the shoulder and threw her to the ground. Pradeep Bhandari said, "She wasn't even asking him a question; she was just covering the protest."

Pradeep Bhandari also alleged that no Congress worker came forward to help the journalist and that party members instead questioned his credibility. Taking aim at Rahul Gandhi's public stance on women's rights, Pradeep Bhandari said the Congress leader's alleged actions were contrary to his call to "end patriarchy." He also cited an alleged incident involving Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and claimed that Rahul Gandhi had pushed him backward.

Congress denied the allegations.

The Congress party has rejected the allegations against Rahul Gandhi. According to NDTV, the party called the claims false and questioned the timing and circumstances of the journalist's hospitalization. The incident has sparked a political controversy. The BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy over his comments on women's safety and his call to "end patriarchy." Congress, meanwhile, has denied the allegations against its leader.
