Pakistan has increased drone activity near India's borders just before Republic Day, putting security forces on high alert. According to security agencies, a total of five drones have been spotted in different areas along the International Border and Line of Control.
According to reports, drone sightings have been reported from Poonch, Nowshera, Dharamshala, Ramgarh and Parakh areas. A Pakistani drone was sighted near the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. The Indian Army immediately retaliated and opened fire on it.
Security alert in border areas
In view of the drone activity, security has been tightened in the areas along the border. The Army, BSF and other security agencies are on high alert and are constantly monitoring to foil any infiltration or conspiracy. Army personnel have been deployed at every nook and corner.
Drones seen in Indian territory
Officials said all the drones came from Pakistan and returned after hovering over Indian territory for a few minutes. They said that army personnel guarding the Nowshera sector near the Line of Control in Rajouri opened machine gun fire at 6:35 pm after spotting drone activity over Ganiya-Kalsian village. Another drone was spotted at 6:35 pm in Khabar village of Teriyath in Rajouri district. They said that at 7:15 pm, a drone-like object was seen hovering over Chak Babral village in Ramgarh sector of Samba for about two minutes. Another drone was spotted at 6:25 pm in Mankot sector near the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Suspicious pigeon caught in Akhnoor sector
On Saturday (January 10), a suspicious pigeon was caught near the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector. The pigeon was caught by a boy named Aryan in Karah village. It had a red ring on its left leg with the name Rehmat Sarkar (03158080213) written on it, and a yellow ring on its right leg with the name Rizwan 2025 (017282) written on it. The pigeon also had a stamp on its wings. The stamp of “Nowshera Aaling Pigeon Club” was on the wings. Nowshera is a city in Pakistan. On receiving information, security forces reached the spot and took the pigeon into custody.
