Nautanwa/Gorakhpur/Delhi: The Muslim population on the Indo-Nepal border has grown very rapidly in the last few years. According to the intelligence report sent to the Uttar Pradesh government, thousands of Muslims bought land in villages and towns in the Indian areas adjoining the Nepal border, especially in Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti and Bahraich on the Indo-Nepal border. And have started business by getting citizenship here. When News Nation investigated the increasing population of Muslims in Sonauli and Nautanwa towns on the Indo-Nepal border, the results were quite shocking. The Nautanwan town of Maharajganj district, situated on the Indo-Nepal border, is considered to be the most sensitive. There has been a huge increase in the Muslim population in the last 5 years in many wards of Nautanwa town. Bahadur Shah Zafar Nagar, Bismil Nagar, Maulana Azad Nagar, Hameed Nagar, of Nautanwa town,

Local people upset over increasing number of Muslims

The figures of Nautanwan tehsil are testimony to the fact that in the last few years, 90 percent of the land registered here has been bought by Muslims. The local people are also very worried about the increasing population of Muslims on the border for the last two decades. Narsingh Pandey, a social worker of Nautanwa town, says that in the last few years, the way the number of Muslims in the towns and villages situated on the Indo-Nepal border has increased rapidly, it is also shocking and intimidating. People are being settled here very easily by bringing them from other places and the residence certificate, voter ID and Aadhar card of the people coming from outside are also being made with the connivance of the officials. Till now no investigation has been done here that from where the settlers are coming and what is their motive behind building houses in the border area.

Is there a breach in the security of the border?

Along with Nautanwa town, the population of Muslims in villages like Hardi Dali, Bargadwa, Khanuwa, Sundi, Ferendi, Jugauli, Kevatalia, Channi, Bhagwanpur, Pipra has increased very rapidly in the last decade. Along with this, there are dozens of such villages in the Marchwar area of Nepalese area, where the population of dense Muslims is being seen. It was during our investigation that we met Anil Gupta, the national president of India-Nepal Friendship Society. What Anil Gupta, who tried to maintain the relations between the two countries, told us was very shocking for us too. Anil Gupta says that while the Muslims of Nepal are helped by ISI and China, the relatives of the same Nepali Muslims are making a dent in the security of the border by building houses in Indian areas.

Muslims getting citizenship related papers fast

We came to know something similar from Jagdish Gupta, a journalist who has been doing journalism on the Indo-Nepal border for years. Jagdish Gupta said that at this time the business of buying and selling land in the Indian areas adjacent to the time limit is going on very fast and most of the people who buy land are from Muslim society. The people who got them land call them their relatives and help them from settling down to getting their citizenship.

Muslim population increased by one and a half times

During the investigation, we met Brijesh Mani, a member of Nautanwa Municipality. Brijesh Mani described the increasing number of Muslims on the border as very dangerous for the coming times. Brijesh Mani said that the Muslim majority neighborhoods around him have grown one and a half times in the last five years. Along with this, the number of mosques and madrasas in these localities has also increased very rapidly. Brijesh Mani says that most of the children studying in these madrasas running in the town are being brought from Bihar, on which he has also lodged his objection with the district administration.

Are Muslims coming and settling from other countries somewhere?

All the work of purchase and sale of land in this area is done from Nautanwa Tehsil. To know the growing population of Muslims in this area and the ground reality about them, when News Nation's team talked to SDM of Nautanwa tehsil Dinesh Mishra, it came to know that a complete conspiracy to change the demographic is being hatched here in the last few years. has been. SDM Dinesh Mishra, while talking to News Nation, admitted that in the last few years, the number of Muslim voters has increased in Nautanwa and Muslims have also done more in the land deeds. He is also investigating whether Rohingya Muslims or other people from other countries have come and settled in his area.

Bad condition of wards, Hindus will be left behind?

The surprising thing is that in the last 5 years, the number of Muslim voters has increased from 623 to 958 in just one ward of Nautanwa town, Bismil Nagar. According to the documents obtained by News Nation from this tehsil, from 2017 to 2022, this population has increased rapidly in only this one Muslim-dominated ward. However, this is the data of only one ward and when we tried to know from this tehsil the data of all the other wards as well as the surrounding villages, the department refused to give it as confidential. Looking at this figure, you can understand for yourself what will be the situation in the whole town and rural areas. The total number of wards in Nautanwa town is 25, in which the Muslim population in a dozen wards has increased rapidly in the last decade. The SDM claims that he is also getting it investigated as to why people from other districts and other countries are coming to this area and buying land.

The number of madrasas-mosques increased rapidly

There are about 1,000 villages in 5 districts adjacent to the Nepal border of UP. Of these, 116 have more than 50% Muslim population. The Muslim population is between 30% and 50% in about 303 villages. According to the report given by the security agencies to the government, not only the number of Muslims in these districts but also the number of mosques and madrasas has increased by 25% from April 2018 to March 2022. According to intelligence reports, there were 1349 mosques in the border districts in 2018, which has now increased to 1688.

Intrusion's new design?

Demographic change on the Indo-Nepal border is not just about increase in population, it is being considered as a new design of infiltration in India. This is the reason why the security agencies of Assam and UP have suggested to increase the scope of BSF and SSB. The SSB deployed on the Indo-Nepal border can conduct investigations only within a range of 10 km from the border, which is being sought to be increased further. The rule is that no new construction of any mosque, madrassa or temple can be done without the permission of the administration in the area of 10 km from the no-man's land in the areas adjoining the Indo-Nepal border, but today the way mosques are indiscriminately And the number of madrassas is increasing, it tells that the crisis is deepening on the India-Nepal border.
