The report said that about 9 km from the India-Bhutan-China tri-junction, China continues to expand its presence in Bhutanese territory. Pangda Village, established in 2020. 2021 saw an expansion. Recently further expansion has been observed in the south. Analysis of recent satellite imagery confirms the construction of new buildings as well as a bridge over the Torsa water body.
Siliguri's chicken neck is also India's biggest concern in this area. There is a possibility of construction from the Chinese side close to this area, known as the Siliguri Corridor. A group of new villages about 20 km from the border in the north is called Langmarpo. These areas include Saiburu, Chaitangsha and Kule. There is rapid construction going on in the villages being set up by China in Bhutanese territory.
