Kankali Mata Temple is located in Dugawal village, 40 kilometers away from Raisen district headquarters. Its distance from Bhopal is 25 kilometers. It is believed that this temple is 400 years old and was established in 1731 AD. However, there is no exact evidence regarding its date.
Every wish of the devotees is fulfilled in this temple. Devotees of Maa Kankali come here from all over the country and the world. There is also a shelter place for devotees to stay. The food of the devotees is managed by the temple committee. Fruit food is arranged for the devotees who are fasting.

There is a popular story about the establishment of the temple. It is said that 400 years ago Harlal Meena had a dream about the temple. Mother Kankali was seen in the dream. Mother had said to dig in the ground, take me out and install my idol. After this, excavation was done at that place in which a statue was found. After this this idol of Mother Goddess was installed. It is claimed that the idol of Maa Kankali is the first such idol in the country whose neck is bent 45 degrees.
There is a 10 thousand square feet hall in the inner part of this temple complex, which does not have any pillar. This is a wonderful piece of art. Earlier there was a practice of offering sacrifices in this temple, but this practice was stopped in the year 1970.

There is a belief regarding the temple of Kankali Mata that any devotee who makes a wish by tying a tie here, his wish is definitely fulfilled. This bond is opened after the vow is fulfilled.
