CM Biren Singh On Manipur Violence: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh spoke to the media on Monday (08 May). Meanwhile, he informed about the damage caused to the state from the rescue operation.


"All the persons stranded at various places in Manipur are being provided the best possible care and assistance in safe places and shelter camps," he said. Along with this, CM Biren Singh has also appealed to the people to maintain peace in the state. "I appeal to the people to maintain peace in the state," he said.


He added, “In the unfortunate incident on May 3, around 60 innocent people lost their lives and 231 people were injured, many of them critically. About 1700 houses have been burnt. The work of transporting the stranded people to their places has also been started.



He said, "So far 20 thousand trapped people have been taken out. About 10 thousand people are still trapped. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been monitoring the situation since the day of the incident. They have sent several companies of central forces.


There, on Monday (08 May) the hearing of this matter was also held in the Supreme Court. The country's highest court has wondered how the High Court can order a community to be included in the Schedule of Tribes.


The court has scheduled the next hearing in this regard on May 17. Along with this, the bench headed by the Chief Justice recorded the steps being taken by the government to normalize the situation. Ordering to take all necessary steps for the rehabilitation of the people displaced during the violence, he also directed to provide facilities and medical assistance to the people living in the relief camps.
