He said, “Our women players accused the BJP MP of sexual exploitation, but the BJP government did not take any action against its MP. On the contrary, the victims were tortured in various ways. BJP is still standing with the accused and is rewarding him in every way. The way the victim players are being tortured is shocking. The women of the country are watching this atrocities.”

It is known that the wrestlers had accused Brij Bhushan Singh of sexual harassment. The wrestlers had alleged that Brij Bhushan Singh had sexually harassed female wrestlers. Many wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik had staged a protest in front of Jantar Mantar in Delhi. At that time, leaders of many opposition parties including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had supported him.

The wrestlers were marching towards the new Parliament building on 28 March. At that time he was arrested by Delhi Police. On June 7, after talking to Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, the wrestlers withdrew from the strike. The Sports Minister had assured that no one from Brij Bhushan Singh's family would be allowed to participate in the wrestling body elections, but his close aide Sanjay Singh was elected president.


Only after that Sakshi Malik announced her retirement from wrestling. The next day, Bajrang Punia wrote in a letter to PM Modi that even after three months, no FIR was registered. He offered to return the Padmashree.
