Sangrur: A very painful and shocking case has come to light in the grain market of Cheema, where a person committed suicide by setting himself on fire in his own pet shop. The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Naib Singh, a resident of Cheema Mandi, who lived very close to Gurdwara Cheema Sahib (birthplace of Sant Atar Singh Ji).
Naib Singh was of a religious nature.
DSP Harvinder Singh Khaira said that Naib Singh was a religious person and used to do selfless service at Gurdwara Sahib. He had also kept this Peter Rehra for the service of the city (langar and other works). Naib Singh had loaded wood and firewood in his Peter Rehra a day before.
Peter had gone out to collect firewood on the street.
He said that at around 4:15 am today, he left his house on a bicycle. He parked his bicycle near the Nihang cantonment near Cheema bus stand and from there he took the cart and went ahead. Between around 4:30 am and 4:45 am, he reached inside the Cheema grain market. At around 4:50 am, the police received information that a cart in the market was engulfed in a massive fire. When the police and forensic teams reached the spot, Naib Singh had died.
What did Naib Singh write in the letter?
During the police investigation, a letter was found while searching the house. In it, Naib Singh himself had written that he was taking the necessary materials (wood, oil, diesel, petrol and ghee) for the funeral with him. Along with this, the letter also records the account of the money transaction with a relative.
The body of the deceased was burnt to a great extent, which after identification has been sent to Civil Hospital Sunam for postmortem and DNA test. He said that an investigation is being conducted to determine whether it was a suicide or something else happened, but this case seems to be a suicide.
There was no conflict or mental distress of any kind.
The deceased's wife said that she had gone to her sister's house in Dhanaula for the last 4-5 days and Gurnaib Singh was alone at home. According to her, there was no quarrel or mental disturbance in the family. Further action will be taken only after the only son of the family, who is an engineer in Pune, reaches his home.News is originally taken from: https://bit.ly/43rWa93
