Amarnath Yatra: On the first day, 12,348 devotees visited the holy cave to see the ice Shivling

The yatra is being undertaken through two main routes - Pahalgam and Baltal, in which devotees reach the cave through difficult mountain paths.

Amarnath Yatra 2025 has started from Thursday and on the very first day, 12,348 devotees had darshan of ice Shivling in the holy cave. On this auspicious occasion, 9,181 men, 2,223 women, 99 children, 122 sadhus, 7 sadhvis, 8 transgender devotees and 708 security personnel were present.


The yatra is being carried out through two main routes- Pahalgam and Baltal , in which the devotees reach the cave through difficult mountain paths. The total duration of the yatra is 38 days and it will conclude on 9 August, the day of Rakshabandhan .


The administration and security agencies have made elaborate arrangements to make the yatra safe and orderly. CCTV surveillance , drone cameras , medical camps , and langar services are constantly active. An alert has also been issued in view of the weather and travelers have been advised to walk cautiously.


The Amarnath Yatra has begun with devotion and enthusiasm. Like every year, this time also thousands of devotees from all over the country are reaching to have darshan of Baba Barfani. Administrative preparations and security arrangements are continuously working to make this journey smooth and safe.
