The Army transported tanks, artillery, and other heavy military equipment from the Jammu region to Anantnag in Kashmir via a special train. This move demonstrates the Army's rapid movement and robust supply capabilities. The Army's Additional Director General of Public Relations (ADGPI) released this information on social media. 

This movement was carriedout as part of a validation exercise. It tested the speed and safety of transporting heavy military equipment to the valley by rail. Along with tanks, artillery guns and dozers were also successfully transported. The Indian Army is now capable of transporting large quantities of military resources to the Kashmir Valley in a short time.

The USBRL projectplayed a significant role in this achievement. The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project has connected Kashmir with the rest of the country through a robust rail network. Close coordination with the Ministry of Railways has enabled this mission to succeed. This has strengthened both operational preparedness and speed on the northern borders.

Cement and vehicles are also transported by rail.Previously, Northern Railway provided container-based wagons to transport apples from the Kashmir Valley. Additionally, cement and vehicles are also transported by rail. This has also supported trade and industry in the valley.

This achievement is considered significant for the military because it will now reduce its dependence on road transport. In case of any emergency, heavy weapons and equipment can be quickly transported to forward areas. This will not only strengthen logistics but will also provide a new impetus to the army's deployment and preparedness in border areas.
