Firing during a kabaddi tournament in Mohali, Punjab; organiser killed, player injured

In Sohana town, Mohali district, Punjab, gunfire erupted during a match of the Bedwan Sports Club's four-day Kabaddi tournament. The Kabaddi promoter (organizer) and a player were seriously injured in the firing. Both were rushed to the hospital, where organizer Rana Balachauriya died. The Bambiha gang is believed to be involved in the incident.

A major incident has been reported from the Sohna area of Mohali, Punjab. A shooting occurred during a Kabaddi tournament. The incident occurred at the Sector 82 ground where a Kabaddi match was underway. According to reports, attackers arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire. A Kabaddi player and the tournament organizer were seriously injured in the crossfire. Both were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared the organizer dead.Singer Mankirt Aulakh was going to come to the tournament


Eyewitnesses said they initially thought it was firecrackers. Around six shots were fired during the match, passing over spectators. Kabaddi players were also practicing on the field when the gunfire suddenly rang out. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting. Famous singer Mankirt Aulakh was also scheduled to attend the tournament.

The Bedwan Sports Club is holding a four-day Kabaddi tournament in Sohana town. Several teams are participating. Firing occurred during a match on Monday evening. Kabaddi promoter (organizer) Kanwar Digvijay Singh, alias Rana Balachauriya, was seriously injured in the firing.

Rana Balachauriya was targeted by miscreants

According to eyewitnesses, the attacker fired directly at Rana Balachauriya. After carrying out the attack, the accused fled, firing in the air as they left, causing chaos in the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, the DSP arrived at the scene with police forces and immediately rushed the injured to the hospital. Rana Balachauriya died at the hospital.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter. Raids are being conducted at various locations to search for the accused. Police are also reviewing recordings from cameras installed in the area to identify the attackers.

Rana had enmity with the Bambiha gang – SSP Mohali

Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh, while providing information about the incident, said that four to five attackers opened fire. Rana Balachauriya was shot in the head during the exchange of fire. The SSP stated that Rana had a rivalry with the Bambiha gang. The miscreants opened fire on them during a kabaddi match in Sohana. One kabaddi player was injured and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
