India-Pakistan News: Security agencies have once again become alert due to the recent sighting of drones in Punjab. But the problem this time is that these drones coming from Pakistan are different and much more capable than the drones being sent earlier.

Pakistan drone network into India: After Operation Sindoor, there was some reduction in the number of drones intruding into Indian territory. However, the recent sighting of drones in Punjab has once again alerted the security agencies. However, the problem this time is that these drones are different and much more capable than the drones sent earlier. They fly at higher altitudes and are capable of penetrating even deeper into Indian territory.
Recently, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted six Pakistani drones near the international border in Punjab's Amritsar district and seized three pistols and over a kilogram of heroin. Four packets containing three pistols and one packet containing 1.070 kg of heroin were seized.
The BSF said in a statement, "The prompt action of the troops after credible information and thorough surveillance once again foiled the attempts of Pakistan-based smugglers to smuggle drugs and weapons into Punjab."
Pakistan's advance conspiracywhere now smugglers from Pakistan will put in all their efforts to send consignments. These smugglers had retreated for a few months after India took action to avenge the Pulwama attack. However, now they are back in full force with more modern drones.
These drones are capable of flying at high altitudes before landing in India. They do not follow a straight path but fly in a zigzag manner so that they cannot be detected. The smugglers also ensure that after delivering the goods, they fall on Indian soil so that it becomes difficult to obtain the data.
Chinese dronesmugglers are using advanced Chinese-made drones, making them difficult to detect. India is planning to deploy more interceptors capable of tracking drone information in real time. This is because in most places the existing mechanism is limited to detecting drones only through voice and visual recognition.
To add to the problem, the ISI is encouraging terrorist groups to make extensive use of drone technology to aid infiltration. During infiltration attempts, drones are being used to help make real-time assessments of the situation. Apart from this, these drones are also being used to gather information about any threats during infiltration.
This information is useful for ISI to evade Indian security personnel and ensure seamless infiltration. ISI has expanded the scope of this technique as it knows that Indian armed forces are on high alert after Operation Sindoor.
Recruitment in terrorist groupsDuring Operation Sindoor, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba lost many of their cadres. Therefore, in a recent meeting with the ISI in June, these terrorist groups decided to not only increase recruitment but also infiltration.
The current situation is making it impossible for terrorist groups from Pakistan to infiltrate into Indian territory. Due to the extremely high alert, infiltration is impossible and hence, there is a high reliance on the use of state-of-the-art drone technology to infiltrate into India.
This will remain a challenge for Indian security agencies as it shares its border with Pakistan in both Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
