Punjab: After ceasefire, Barnala markets are back in business, people are relieved

Barnala (Punjab), May 12 (IANS) After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the markets of Barnala have once again become vibrant. Traders and common people were being badly affected due to the tension and blackout situation prevailing in the district for the last five days.
Now after the news of ceasefire, life in the city is slowly becoming normal. The traders of the city expressed happiness over the ceasefire and said that Punjab suffers the most losses.
He believes that every issue should be resolved through dialogue so that peace and harmony can be maintained. However, it is also necessary to punish countries like Pakistan for their nefarious deeds.
Trader Kuldeep Singh Jassal, whose shop is near the bus stand road, said, "The atmosphere of war is terrifying. Now people are a little relieved, but the fear still remains. There is some activity at the grocery stores, but the rest of the markets are still empty."
Shopkeeper Sumit Kumar said, "Due to the war, migrants have started leaving Punjab and returning to their states. People are stocking up on ration, the atmosphere of fear has not ended yet. If the war had not stopped, the situation could have been worse."
Trader Vijay Kumar Singh Singla said, "After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there were chances of war, but an agreement was reached between India and Pakistan, which stopped the war. Now people are slowly returning to the markets."
Taxi driver Kuldeep Singh said that the administration had conducted a mock drill and people were confined to their homes. The people of both countries are brothers, war breaks families on both sides. With the end of the war, work will increase and income will improve.
After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the firing on the border has stopped, due to which the people living near the border are returning to normal life. However, there is anger among the people after the terrorist incident in Pahalgam. People say that India's peace-loving policy is being exploited again and again. If Pakistan does not stop its misdeeds, then India also knows how to respond, as it has done through Operation Sindoor.
