This meeting has been arranged in Jalandhar. Earlier this meeting was arranged in Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. This meeting will be held in Jalandhar at 1 pm. 

Roads and markets will not be closed during the bandh

Only permanent and contract employees will be given a collective leave inside the government office and no work will be done by them. However, during this time, any kind of disruption in government work may be faced.

CPF Employees Union Punjab President Sukhjit Singh Dimpy said that a call for Punjab Maha Bandh has been given on August 27. During this, many questions are coming to the minds of the common people. But he clarified that the common people will not be disturbed in any way during the bandh being conducted by the employees. Roads or markets will not be closed during this bandh.  

Government schools and colleges will remain closed. 

Meanwhile, government employees, whether they are doctors, drivers, office workers or class four employees, have all announced a collective holiday. But neither the highways nor the roads will be closed during this bandh. The leaders also said that a meeting has been called with CM Bhagwant Mann on August 27. Government institutions, universities, colleges of Punjab will be kept closed and their voices will be conveyed to CM Mann. 

Discussion on the call for Punjab Bandh 

In the meeting held yesterday, the leaders said that before coming to power, the Punjab government had promised to accept the demands of the employees and pensioners and resolve their problems. But despite the passage of many years, the important demands of the employees have still not been fulfilled. The leaders demanded the release of outstanding installments of DA, implementation of the old pension scheme, giving the pay scale on the central pattern and cancellation of the letters issued regarding the three-year probation period related to the young employees.

Demands of organizations 

The leaders said that the government should also implement the decision given by the double bench of the High Court. They said that the employees and pensioners have been struggling for a long time for their legitimate demands, but the government has not provided a permanent solution to these issues.

Announcement of a shutdown on August 27 

The meeting also discussed in detail about the Punjab bandh on August 27. The leaders said that on this day, employees of various government institutions of Punjab will join the strike. Employees of schools, colleges, electricity department, SDM office, tehsils and other government offices have been appealed to join the bandh.

Congress party gets support for bandh 

On the other hand, now this bandh has also started being supported by political leaders. According to the information received, the Congress has announced its full support for the strike of employee organizations. Let us tell you that the district presidents of the Congress have been instructed to give memorandums to the Deputy Commissioners in favor of the employees. Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has also warned the government of burning effigies and of a big protest against the government if it does not accept the demands. Along with this, it has also been announced to surround CM Bhagwant Mann and his ministers and protest on platforms.
