Announcing this, Punjab Defense Services Welfare Minister Mahendra Bhagat said that the state government is committed to provide employment opportunities to firemen after their retirement from the army.


Let us tell that this information has been given by 'AAP' MLA Jeevan Jyoti Kaur via tweet. He said that after retirement, Agniveer will be given jobs by the Punjab government. Regarding this, Cabinet Minister Mahendra Bhagat has announced that 800 firemen who will retire in 2027 will be given jobs.


Cabinet Minister Mahendra Bhagat said that the first batch of 800 Agniveers is likely to retire in 2027. As they will not be eligible for ex-servicemen benefits, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already directed to prepare proposals to ensure jobs for these youths (Agniveer).


Mahendra Bhagat added, "The government is taking proactive steps to secure the future of those who have served our country with honour."
