RCB's victory was marred by a stampede outside the ground, killing 11 people; more than 25 injured

IPL 2025: A major accident has taken place during RCB's celebrations in Bengaluru. Many people have died in a stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium.


RCB Victory Celebration Stampade: RCB has won the IPL title after 18 years, but this victory has been spoiled. 11 people have died in the stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Also, 25 people have been injured and their condition is critical. The police have had to lathicharge to control the crowd. While there is tension outside the stadium, the felicitation ceremony for the players is going on inside the ground.


After the historic victory in IPL 2025, all the players of Royal Challengers Bangalore arrived in Bengaluru. They were given a grand welcome in Bengaluru. The players were felicitated at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. But even before that, the celebrations were cut short. The huge crowd outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium led to a stampede. The police also lathi-charged the fans.


Open bus parade was rejected

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team has won the IPL after 18 years, RBC had planned to take out an open bus parade through the city to celebrate their victory. But the police refused. This decision was taken due to traffic congestion in Bengaluru. The event was to start at around 3.30 pm on June 4. The parade was to start from Vidhan Soudha and end at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.


As per the planned schedule, the felicitation program was to be held around 5-6 pm. Entry to the venue was restricted to those with valid passes. As there was limited parking available around the stadium, attendees were advised to use the metro and other public transport. However, the situation got out of hand due to the huge crowd. 

What happened in the match?

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli top-scored with 43 runs for the team. Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets each for Punjab. Punjab's batsmen tried hard, but they could not give the team victory. Shashank Singh scored an unbeaten 61 runs in 30 balls. He hit 3 fours and 6 sixes. Josh English scored 39 runs in 23 balls. Prabhsimran Singh scored 36 and Priyansh Arya scored 24 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets each for RCB.
