Serial killer Raja Kolandar gets life imprisonment in 25 year old double murder case, used to drink human brain soup

A Lucknow court has sentenced notorious serial killer Raja Kolandar and his accomplice Bachharaj Kol to life imprisonment in a 25-year-old double murder case. Along with this, a monetary fine of Rs 2.50 lakh has also been imposed on both the convicts.

Lucknow- A Lucknow court has sentenced notorious serial killer Raja Kolandar and his accomplice Bachharaj Kol to life imprisonment in a 25-year-old double murder case. Along with this, a monetary fine of Rs 2.50 lakh has also been imposed on both the convicts.

Raja Kolandar's name came into the news when police investigation revealed that he used to make soup from the brains of the dead people and drink it. His barbaric acts became a topic of discussion in the entire state. Kolandar has several serious criminal cases registered against him earlier, which include crimes of murder, kidnapping and cannibalism.

This case is related to Prayagraj (then Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh in 2000, when two persons were mysteriously murdered. After a long investigation and hearing, the court finally gave this verdict on Friday, which is no less than a big relief for the victim's family.

The court said in its decision that the harshest punishment is necessary to protect society from such brutes. This decision of the court further strengthens the faith of the common man on law and order and judiciary.
