Amitabh Bajpai, the Samajwadi Party MLA from Arya Nagar assembly constituency of Kanpur, was protesting against the water logging, but in the course of the protest, he had to violate the traffic rules. In fact, the SP MLA was sitting on the roof of his SUV by tying a boat to it. The traffic police handed over a challan of Rs 2,000 to the MLA. The police informed about this.
The SP MLA said that he came out on the streets on Friday to protest against the waterlogging and alleged corruption within the Municipal Corporation and told the truth. He said that through this symbolic demonstration, our aim was to highlight the inaction of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation and the behavior of the district officials. Bajpayee put a boat on top of his Scorpio and started his demonstration from Sarsaiya Ghat which passed through Bara Chauraha, Meston Road, Moolganj, Express Road and Phoolbagh.
