Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India... What did Devika Rotawan, the eyewitness who identified Ajmal Kasab, say?

Devika Rotawan was the one who identified the only accused of Mumbai attack, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, in the court. At the age of just 9, Devika came under the firing of terrorists at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) during the 26/11 attack and was shot in her leg.

Mumbai Attack Main Accused Tahavvur Rana Extradition: 26/11 Mumbai terror attack victim and main witness Devika Rotawan has called the extradition of main accused Tahavvur Hussain Rana from the US a big victory for India. She demanded that other conspirators hiding in Pakistan should also be exposed and punished. Rotawan has demanded the death penalty for Rana (64).

Devika Rotawan was the one who identified the only accused of Mumbai attack, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, in the court. At the age of just 9, Devika came under the firing of terrorists at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) during the 26/11 attack and was shot in her leg.

Devika Rotawan's statement in that attack proved to be very important against Kasab. Kasab was convicted by a Mumbai court and was hanged in 2012.

Regarding the extradition of Tahawwur Rana to India, Rotawan said, 'This is a big victory for India and I thank the Indian government for this. Rana's coming to India is the beginning of the end of terrorism.' He said that Indian security agencies should interrogate Rana and gather more information and expose the rest of the terrorist elements hiding in Pakistan.

Rotawan further said, 'Tahavvur Rana should be hanged, but those people sitting in Pakistan who are supporting and encouraging terrorism should also be given strict punishment.'

Recalling that horrific night of 26 November 2008, she said, 'I was going to Pune with my father and brother and we were waiting for the train between platform number 12 and 13. Then I saw a man (later it was revealed that he was Kasab) with a big weapon in his hand was firing at people. There were dead bodies and injured people lying all around. I was only 9 years old, I could not understand anything.'

Devika fainted after being shot. She was first admitted to St. George Hospital and then to Mumbai's JJ Hospital, where she underwent six surgeries on her leg. She said, 'I saw Kasab firing and my father saw both Kasab and Abu Ismail. On June 10, 2009, we went to the trial court and identified Kasab.'

Tahawwur Hussain Rana is a Pakistani-born Canadian citizen and a close associate of the mastermind of the terrorist attacks, David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani, who is an American citizen.

Let us tell you that 16 years ago, 10 heavily armed terrorists from Pakistan carried out a coordinated attack on Mumbai's CSMT, two five-star hotels and a Jewish center. These terrorists, who entered India's financial capital by sea, wreaked terror for about 60 hours, killing 166 people, including American citizens.
