India on Friday said three Bangladeshi nationals were killed while trying to steal cattle after crossing the Indian border, and not beaten by a mob, as Dhaka has claimed. After this, the local people gathered and resisted the attackers.
The ministry said two smugglers were killed on the spot, while the third died in hospital. The bodies of all three have been returned to Bangladesh, and police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
