Uttrakhand Child Shivansh Death:  A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Uttarakhand, where a one-year-old child died due to illness because he could not get timely treatment. This incident has created an uproar in Uttarakhand. Shivansh, who was the son of army officer Dinesh Chandra Joshi, died due to negligence and lack of treatment of hospitals. It is alleged that he was taken to five hospitals in four districts, but did not get proper treatment on time.

"When Shivansh fell ill, there was no treatment, the doctors just kept referring him ."

On July 10, Shivansh started vomiting repeatedly and could not even drink milk. His mother immediately took him to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Gwaldam in Chamoli district. But due to the lack of paediatricians and necessary facilities there, he was immediately referred to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Baijnath in Bageshwar district, 22 km away.

Initial treatment was done at the CHC, but when his condition worsened, he was referred to Bageshwar District Hospital, 20 km away.

"Doctors kept using mobile phones instead of treating the child"

Shivansh's father alleged that the doctors in the emergency ward were using mobile phones and the nursing staff were joking. The doctor did not even examine his son properly and sent him straight to Almora, saying that there was no ICU facility for children there.

Shivansh's mother said that she had called 108 ambulance at 7 pm, but the ambulance arrived at 9:30 pm, that too after calling several times and requesting the district magistrate. At that time her husband was on duty in Jammu and Kashmir, and she was alone in the hospital. She requested the staff several times, but no one paid attention. There was neither sympathy nor urgency.

The child was then taken to Almora Medical College, which was the fourth hospital. From there, he was referred to Haldwani (Nainital).

He was put on a ventilator at Haldwani Medical College on July 12, but despite all efforts, Shivansh died on July 16.

The child's father says he lost his son due to careless and irresponsible behavior. The mother said, "My son was alive when we left Guadalcanal. I pray that no parent has to suffer like we did."

Chief Minister Dhami took serious notice

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the matter seriously. He termed it as very sad and said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that people get timely and proper treatment.
