Cattle Smuggling Case: 11-day ED remand of TMC leader Anubrata Mandal approved, Delhi court's decisi

TMC Leader Anubrata Mondal ED Custody: TMC leader Anubrata Mondal has been granted 11-day ED remand in the case of alleged money laundering in cattle smuggling.

Anybrata Mondal ED Remand: Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal, who is caught in the cattle smuggling case, is not taking the name of reducing his troubles. A Delhi court on Friday (March 10) approved his 11-day ED remand in connection with the alleged money laundering in cattle smuggling. Earlier on Wednesday (March 8), the court sent Mandal to ED custody till March 10.

Anubrata Mandal, TMC's Birbhum district president and a close aide of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was earlier arrested by the CBI in a related corruption case. At midnight on Tuesday, the court passed the order on a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate.

ED had asked for 14 days custody

During the hearing, the ED demanded 14-day custody from the court and said that it was necessary to interrogate the accused. Special Judge Rakesh Kumar, after hearing the arguments, directed the agency to produce the accused in a regular court on March 10. After this, the ED presented Mandal in the court on Friday.

Now Anubrata Mandal will be questioned in Delhi

ED officer Anubrata Mandal was brought directly to the city's airport under tight security of central forces and from there to Delhi. The ED team is questioning him regarding the alleged cattle smuggling scam.

The ED reached Delhi on Tuesday night at 9 pm with Birbhum Trinamool President Anubrata Mandal. First he was taken to the ED headquarters. After that he was first taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where his health checkup was done. Then on Wednesday he was taken again for checkup.
